Cardcaptors is about a young girl named Sakura Avalon who finds a mysterious book in her dad's library. She calls on the Windy Card and blows all the cards away. All the commotion woke up Kero, the guardian of the cards. When he found out that it was Sakura who released the cards, he named her a cardcaptor. This is what changed her life from then on.

On her adventure to capture the cards, Sakura makes many allies(besides Kero and the cards). Her best friend Madison always makes Sakura these weird battle costumes and loves to video tape all of Sakura's captures. Li, a direct descendent of Clow Read, becomes Sakura's rival but they normaly help each other catch the cards together. Meilin, who is very close to Li's family, comes in later on and leaves after a while. Meilin likes Li a lot and has no magical powers. Miss McKenzie is Sakura's math teacher. She helps Sakura by giving her advice and by using the ancient bell.

Once Sakura finished capturing all the cards. Sakura and Li had to face Yue (the final judgement). Li is the first one to face him, but he fails. Then it's Sakura's turn. She doesn't want to hurt him because Julian(one of Sakura's friends) ended up to be Yue under his human form. So she dicided to use the Wood card. Since the Wood card was under the protection of the moon, it backfired. Miss Makenzi used the ancient bell and Sakura got another chance. Her staff changed and she used the Windy card. The Windy card was under the moon's protection, but it still worked. In the end, Yue named Sakura the new master of the cards.

Now that the cards were all captured and Sakura passed the final jugment, everything went to normal. Or at least they thought so. Sakura now has to change all the Clow Cards into Star Cards. It uses a lot of her magical powers to transform a cards, so she's normaly tired after transforming a card. Throught all of these new adventures, Sakura's magical powers grow stronger. At the end, she has to face Eli, a reincantation of Clow Read. To defeat him she must transform the Light and Dark card. It will take the combined strength of Sakura, Keroberos and Yue to transform them.
